Mixed Metals - Silver & Gold

Glass Heart and Paw shown with mixed metal vase
Welcome back to our blog..
Welcome everyone and thank you for reading and following our blog.
I hope you find this week’s blog as fun and interesting as I did.

Mixed metals, yay or nay?
Living Spaces.com recently did a story about the 19 trends for 2021 declaring styles that
“are in” and styles that “are out”.

Personally, I happen to not agree with everything that Living Spaces deemed “out of style”
You can read Living Spaces “ins & outs” by clicking this link: latest 2021 design trends

What I noticed immediately and found interesting is that in the very first photo they set the mixed metals scene. The designer had mixed various metals, iron, brass etc. and not only the actual metal itself was mixed but they had varying degrees of gold and black tones

The second thing I noticed right away was under category: “IN: Transitional Decor (OUT: Industrial Style)”
The interior designer mixed both silver and Gold.  Did you "I-Spy" or as we call it "Eye Spy" that too?

The designer chose  a giraffe whose legs are of a silver tone along with a globe that has a gold base. In addition, the metal artwork on the wall appears to have an ever so slightly rose tint to it. Did you "Eye Spy" that also?

PS: For more on "Eye Spy", you can read last week’s blog on Interchangeable Letters and Numbers.

Do the Latest Décor Trends change your mind on mixing metals, specifically Silver and Gold?
What do you think, is mixing metals your style? After reading Living Spaces “ins & outs of 2021” would you mix silver and gold?

Would you mix one of our gold art blocks with a series of platinum letters or numbers?
We would love to hear your thoughts and feedback on this one for sure!

Still not convinced?
According to Good Housekeeping, click this link to see the gallery , they saved the best for last in photo number 16.

Did you "Eye Spy" the gold toned light fixtures on the wall? What about the chandelier with the silver-chrome coloring? This decorator demonstrates beautifully how you can mix metals and still have a very nice cohesive space. We love that they call the style of the room old world influences, do you love that decor style and name as much as we do?

Do you stick to trends or your own unique blend of styles?
For us personally, we have a mish mash of Industrial Modern, Traditional, Contemporary and Primitive home décor. Somehow we have managed to blend antiques into our home décor along with our art blocks. Our glass art blocks are so versatile and they really do mix nicely with any style of home décor. Check out some of the vignettes on our individual product photos to see how you can do the same, click here, remember to click on each product to see the vignettes.

Have some insight on this blog you would like to share?
Please email service@eiglass.com with your insight, perhaps we could do a follow up blog on mixed metals. We would love for you to share your ideas, insights and personal style with us. Writing these blogs has sure given us some perspective on how to blend many styles together and still have a cohesive living space. I hope this blog does the same for you.

PS: On a fun side note & slightly not related to mixed metals… Reading through, did you even know Millennial Pink was a thing? I sure didn’t, must have missed that one.

IN: Warm Tones (OUT: Millennial Pink). Made me go hmmm.. so, I decided to look up Millennial Pink. Apparently this was popular starting in or around 2017. Interesting enough our glass art blocks would have fit in perfectly ok with Millenial Pink, find out more by clicking to view the HGTV gallery.
